With that Moon Language

Of course you do not do this out loud, otherwise someone would call the cops.
Still, though, think about this, this great pull in us to connect.
Why not become the one who lives with a full moon in each eye
that is always saying,

what every other eye in this world is dying to hear?

I wanted to give you the gift of a poem…and to explain where I’ve been….being the Cancer-Moonchild that I am ( deeply so) my instinct, during times of deep overwhelm, is to withdraw into my shell…I will preface this by saying, to put it mildly, this has been a year of great losses…I prefer to call them ‘openings’ though, and have been spending much time meditating on the idea that this is in truth….opportunity…for new things to flow in, imaginings and dreams , experiences and people that perhaps I never even knew existed….
I find gratitude in the small things…a bit of sun…a soft new puppy….( wild toothmarks on my things! )….trees that are about to explode with emerald goodness…some new music to soothe the soul…and intentionally choosing not to fill spaces, simply for the sake of ‘filling’….
This pin came courtesy of an amazing artist friend who could not possibly have known how much I needed this…she calls it a “badge of peregrination”… and here is a little known fact, I was called ( not in a complementary way) “dictionary girl” in elementary school…I do love words, and I HAD to look up this word I did not know …..peregrination = an extensive voyage…..perfect!
I used to think, when I was little that life was a linear journey…and at some point, you got to a place, where everything around you was well…. ‘set’…all the different aspects that you use to define and identify yourself would ‘be’…..little did I know that for me, it would be the exact opposite…a series of different journeys, with small plateaus in between…I have been thinking about how grateful I am that it IS like that…full of ebb and flow, highs and lows….it just helps me appreciate it all….
Yes, I got exactly what I needed…a badge of peregrination…for my journey…this new voyage…funny how life is like that…you often don’t get what you want, but you often do get what you need…( thank you Mick and Co.!)

call it a connection through higher consciousness, call it what you will. that poem has been in my bicycle’s basket dashboard for a while. and peregrination popped up as a “word of the day” in my inbox just recently. so i know just where you are right now. and where i need to be.

I love your badge…it reminded me of the peregrine falcon of course…you soar my dear friend and nothing can bring you down. We do need those ebbs and flows to make music, don’t we? I am not sure what to say besides noting that fresh toothmarks on your items bring good luck, of course that is in my opinion, there is no tradition there! : ) xoxoxo

Part of an Irish journey blessing…My mother has said various of these over the years and this has helped…Though I couldn’t remember it exactly…
I am glad to know that many things are keeping you lifted {flying? gliding?} while you experience losses…
I too am a dictionary fiend. “Hansard” was said in class the other day and I had to leave the room to go the library to find out what it meant. No one knew. {the name of the printed transcripts of parliamentary debates}…Peregrination is another words I’ve once looked up…I think it was in a poem…Yeats perhaps?
