What a thought provoking post…thank you Kerin! I am afraid I will not see much of anything besides rain clouds and I thank NASA and all modern technology for letting me experience this in non-real time. I love the winter solstice because it marks the beginning of longer days, certainly a significant festival to the ancient persians who were zoroastrians. Enjoy the show! xoxo

Tis going to be overcast here in northern Missouri , I doubt that the moon’s transformation will be visible but I plan on awakening early to search the sky. Big Fly’s whispers will be magnified and I shall listen. Thank you for writing this post, Kerin. Lovely meditation for the beginning of winter.

As Van Morrison sang, “It’s a marvelous night for a moondance, with the stars up above in your eyes…”

our view is perfect. clear skies. +5 F. am at work right now [2300 AKST] and [yes] hollered over the radios to the rest of the staff—-OMGyouvegottocomeseethis! fortunately my hollering was done while in the courtyard so i did not awaken any pioneers or veterans.
our view is much like the lower image on your posted photo, kerin. pinkish. full. magical. mystical. i am so glad to be alive and able to give thanks for this night.
